Questions About Construction?
Bluepeak Fiber FAQs
What construction activity should I expect in my neighborhood?
Our crews will survey easements and access points, checking underground utilities and documenting existing infrastructure to plan an efficient fiber path. You may see them marking locations, opening pedestals, and inspecting the area for the best routing of the fiber network.
What is “Rod & Rope”?
Rod & Rope is a method used to inspect and clear existing conduits. A flexible rod is pushed through the conduit, then pulled back with a rope to confirm the pathway is clear. This ensures new fiber can be pulled efficiently without unnecessary digging.
How is the fiber installed?
Once conduits are verified, crews pull fiber cables through them, installing any new conduit as needed. All necessary infrastructure upgrades are completed while minimizing impact to streets, yards, and sidewalks.
How is the work site restored after construction?
After fiber installation, crews remove all location markers and restore disturbed areas. Lawns are raked, seeded, or strawed, and any sidewalks or driveways affected are returned to their original condition wherever possible.
How long does construction typically take in a neighborhood?
Timing depends on the size and complexity of the project. Surveying, rod & rope inspections, and installation are coordinated to work efficiently. Once construction begins it could take approximately 60 days, while keeping traffic and residents’ disruption to a minimum.
Will service be interrupted during installation?
Interruptions are rare. If necessary, crews schedule brief service pauses and notify residents in advance to ensure minimal disruption to internet, TV, or phone service.
