Bluepeak Breaks Ground on New Fiber Network in Perry
High-Quality, High-Speed Broadband Service to be Available to Customers by the End of the Year
(Perry, Okla.) – October 25, 2021 – Bluepeak, the revolutionary internet provider, broke ground this morning on a $2M fiber network expansion that will bring high-quality, high-speed broadband and video services to nearly 2,000 residents and businesses in Perry. With construction underway, Bluepeak will begin delivering service to customers later this year.
This morning representatives from both Bluepeak and Mears Group, Inc., the general contractor for the project, joined City officials at a site at the intersection of 15th and Kaw to officially kick off construction of Bluepeak’s fiber-optic network.
“We are thrilled to begin construction and bring our future-proof fiber-optic network to Perry,” said Rich Fish, CEO of Bluepeak. “Bluepeak believes the size of the city shouldn’t determine the quality of the technology and Oklahoma is an important market for us as we expand our services to communities across the region.”
Bluepeak was designed to provide the best fiber connection for communities without the things that get in the way of great service — like red tape, hidden fees and slow response times. Residential customers in Enid will have access to internet with symmetrical speeds up to 5-gigabit, and businesses can achieve speeds up to 10-gigabit and beyond.
“In order for Perry to grow and attract new residents and businesses especially when faced with current educational, economic, and health related challenges, we are pleased to welcome Bluepeak to Perry. Highspeed, reliable internet will enhance educational opportunities in today’s remote learning world and will positively affect all age demographics,” said Perry City Manager Larry R. Pannell. “Large and small businesses look to communities that have high speed internet capabilities which enable them to build a competitive advantage now and into the future. COVID has opened up capabilities in remote health care most of us could not have envisioned just a few years ago. Bluepeak will help Perry stand out among rural communities.”
Bluepeak is rolling out robust, proactive communications tactics to inform residents of the construction process. Residents will receive information in advance of construction commencement in their neighborhood, including a postcard, construction awareness letter, door hangers and yard signs. In addition, a construction Q&A is available at mybluepeak.com.
