Bluepeak Completes Fiber Internet Expansion in Vermillion

(VERMILLION, S.D.) Feb. 14, 2023 – Bluepeak announced it has completed its fiber-to-the-home network expansion in Vermillion.

The completion of the fiber optic construction work is the culmination of Bluepeak’s $4.1 million investment to build fiber to more than 5,000 homes and businesses in Vermillion, which began in 2021. In all, Bluepeak has now built out more than 249,000 feet of fiber in Vermillion.

Bluepeak’s fiber network covers most of the Vermillion city limits, almost all between South Dakota Highway 50 and the Vermillion River. The service area also covers areas around the University of South Dakota campus, Vermillion Middle and High Schools, and Jolley Elementary.

“At Bluepeak, we believe that the size of the town shouldn’t determine the quality of the technology they have access to,” said Jeff Seidenfaden, Bluepeak’s Chief Commercial and Customer Experience Officer. “The good folks of Vermillion have waited too long for better internet options and we’re very pleased with the interest we’ve received here in our fiber internet service.”

The Vermillion community has welcomed Bluepeak with open arms. In fact, Bluepeak has quickly gained more than 500 subscribers – and counting – in Vermillion.
